Reasons to buy/ hold Stidham:
Average price of Prizm silver being $40
Average price of Prizm base being $4
Undervalued for a player who has actual opportunity to play. Kyler Murray is considered the most valuable card in the 2019 class. If he regresses this year off his rookie performance then his cards should see correlated decrease in value towards the mean. A prospect who has not been confirmed as to be a “bust” such as stidham maintains value on basis of potential value. Once the player has started and played, well or not, with a big enough sample size the related value to their cards either levels out or decreases. We see this with Ryan Finley in 2019 on the Bengals and Josh Rosen in 2018. Mitchell Trubisky in 2017. So in some cases no meaningful game experience is good if a player is undervalued, but has an opportunity to start.
Next Month: If/when Tom Brady signs for another team Stidham’s card values should increase merely off the speculation of him potentially starting.
Start of Season: If the Patriots sign an alternative as a bridge QB, and Stidham plays well this coming preseason there should be a positive correlation to value of his cards. He would be second on the depth chart as a worst case scenario with plenty of upside. One would expect his cards to see an uptick in value at the preseason.
2020 Regular Season:
Best case scenario: he gets the nod to be the new starting QB and does well.
If you can get a deal on stidham cards now or have some in your collection now, there is opportunity to profit in the short term without the risk of holding onto the cards for longer than a year. This is how I see the market reacting. Even in the event of Brady staying, a solid preseason performance off of last year’s preseason would bode well similar to the value of Jimmy Garoppolo’s cards based on his time in New England. . #stidham #tombrady #kylermurray #ryanfinley #panini #whodoyoucollect #prizmfootball #prizmsilver #patriots #patriotsnation #garyvee #prizm #nationalfootballleague #footballcards
