I just spent the weekend in Switzerland completely alone. Switzerland was the top of my list of countries to visit while abroad. I couldn’t find anyone who wanted to go, so I decided to go myself. I’ve always been someone who likes to spend time alone, so I didn’t think it would bother me. Most of the time it didn’t, but I had a few moments of insecurity, like when I went to my first restaurant alone. But once you do something you’re scared of, it doesn’t feel so scary anymore!
This weekend was the trip of my dreams and I’m so happy I went. I spent the weekend doing exactly what I wanted to do. I went paragliding, snowshoeing, rode a jet boat, ate bratwurst and chocolate, got a black eye and met so many cool people. Traveling alone allowed me to get out of my comfort zone and talk to people I probably wouldn’t have if I went with a group of friends. Switzerland is such an amazing country that everyone should experience at least once.
I’m on my way back to Rome right now and am feeling unbelievably thankful for where I am in my life right now. I feel like I’m truly living and growing as a person.
@collegecleaneating spoke about feeling comfortable alone and I strongly recommend that everyone take a look at her post as well! Have a great week and let’s kill it!
