healthy vs fit
something I’ve realized lately is that you can appear healthy or fit, but not actually be healthy on the inside.
when you’re not consuming enough nutrient-dense, real foods; you’re essentially starving your gut microbiota.
you can seem healthy, but have an unhealthy gut flora due to your dietary intake and other lifestyle factors.
changing your dietary intake by removing processed and high sugar foods, while consuming a well-balanced diet will be beneficial in improving tour gut health.
you’ve heard me talk about fiber before and it’s for good reason! it’s imperative that you consume enough fiber found in beans, whole grains, fruits, and vegetables to produce short-chain fatty acids that are an important energy source for the cells lining our colon which feeds the good bacteria in our gut.
other ways to improve your gut are exercise, probiotics, reducing stress, getting adequate sleep, drinking enough water, removing food intolerances/sensitivities, and taking your time eating at meals to improve digestion.
